Winter is all about gathering firewood and checking your HOME SECURITY SYSTEMS for a carbon monoxide detector – but why stick to the mundane? It’s a great time to spruce up your house when you don’t want to, say, add on a deck – here are a few of our favorite wintertime dcor ideas:
Paint Something: Painting is a great way to kill the time you’re cooped up indoors, so grab a roller and choose a color. Just remember that it will get dark earlier so choose your light accordingly and the wet winter air may make drying longer.
Rearrange the Furniture: One great thing about this time of year is that it’s not painfully hot – what a great season to break a sweat. Try out a new room arrangement for a few weeks before it gets so hot you can’t think!
Add a Project: Other home improvement projects that can easily be completed over a weekend spent indoors are a tile backsplash in the kitchen, wainscoting in the bathroom and even crown molding in a small room, if you know what you’re doing. Why waste all this precious “house” time!?
